FOR LIVEABLE CITIES

AND HEALTHY WATERS

Dahlem Consulting Engineers

We are engineers for water management and beyond. We plan and coordinate hydraulic engineering infrastructure projects, without which life in the city would not be possible.

As an engineering office for hydraulic engineering, we assume planning responsibility for sewage treatment plants, sewer systems, drinking water pipes, dykes, canals and much more. For us and our clients, water is both an important resource and a potential hazard. With the energy transition and climate change, we as a planning office are facing new challenges in water management.

How do we ensure access to clean drinking water? How can wastewater be discharged in a targeted manner? How can wastewater be treated in an energy-efficient way? How can water bodies be designed in an ecologically sound way? What do urban spaces look like that compensate for heavy rainfall events such as heat peaks? How can rainwater be collected and reused?

Our project teams are looking for answers in environmental technology that will last for generations to come.

DAHLEM AHOI!

Team events are a tradition at our company – the dragon boat race on Lake Baldeney in Essen has been part of this since 2007. With just under 200 employees, this event provides an opportunity to engage with colleagues whom one rarely encounters. The motto: Step outside your comfort zone!

SITE VISIT TO AMPRION

We know all about power lines. However, it is our experience in civil engineering that has qualified us, as civil engineers from the water management sector, as project partners of AMPRION for the kilometers of power lines that are being laid as underground cables in the “Wehrendorf–Gütersloh” project, project number 16 of the Energy Line Expansion Act.

ON BREAKFAST TELEVISION IN BARBADOS

The easternmost island of the Lesser Antilles suffers from water shortages: despite annual rainfall of 2,000 mm, there are no major bodies of water here. In future, water resources will be used more wisely: the sewage treatment plant in Bridgetown will be able to treat water to such an extent that it can be used for agricultural purposes or to replenish groundwater reserves.
