At DAHLEM, around 190 employees are involved in national and international projects for livable cities and healthy waterways. Our engineering office designs sewage treatment plants, canals, dikes, supply lines, power lines, flood or heavy rain hazard maps, and much more at several locations.

As a structural engineer (m/f/d) in the Rhine-Main area (Darmstadt or Wiesbaden), you will work across locations on a wide range of water management projects and contribute your expertise to the successful implementation of our construction projects. Sounds dry? It's not – because without your calculations, nothing works here!

Your tasks
  • You will be responsible for structural design in civil engineering, particularly for sewage treatment plants, sewer construction projects, and water management facilities.
  • You will perform structural calculations using FRILO, Dlubal RFEM, and other structural analysis software.
  • You will develop detailed design solutions and translate them into feasible concepts.
  • You will support construction supervision with engineering inspections and serve as a technical contact during construction.
  • In interdisciplinary projects, you will work closely with colleagues from mechanical, electrical, and process engineering and advise the project teams on structural design issues.
  • Ideally, you will be involved in property planning and can help shape design and planning concepts, construction processes, and cost calculations.
  • You will have the opportunity to do pioneering work in the field of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and advance 3D building modeling.
  • You will handle the technical and economic aspects of your projects and ensure that your buildings are not only viable on paper.
We are a good match if...
  • you have a degree in civil engineering with a specialization in structural engineering/statics.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in performing structural calculations in civil engineering.
  • You are a qualified structural engineer.
  • You are confident in using standard structural analysis software and applying the relevant standards and regulations (Eurocode, DIN standards).
  • You have a structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach to your work.
  • You are a team player, proactive, and a strong communicator.
  • Ideally, you also have the following (but if not, we will develop it together with you):
    • Expertise in geotechnical engineering and steel and reinforced concrete construction, especially in structural and object planning for buildings in urban water management.
    • Experience with the planning of waterproof structures.
    • Experience with CAD programs and basic knowledge of BIM methodology.
