SHORT DESCRIPTION

A dewatering plant for the sewage sludge produced at Merck KGaA's central wastewater treatment plant in Darmstadt was planned. The plant consists of a sludge dewatering hall with an adjoining room for the electrical equipment and a silo for sludge storage located next to the hall.

A centrifuge with the addition of polymer flocculants is planned for dewatering. Space and connections for a second centrifuge are already provided for. The silo is designed as a rectangular push-floor container with a steel substructure and shallow foundation. The sludge is loaded from the silo into trucks using shaftless spiral conveyors (screw conveyors). Alternatively, it can be discharged into skip containers.
