Short description

The Geisenheim wastewater treatment plant is designed for 70,000 PE and is being expanded to include a fourth treatment stage for trace substance and phosphorus reduction. The receiving water body is the Rhine.

The fourth treatment stage includes a feeding pump station, a storage and dosing station for powdered activated carbon and precipitating agents, four contact reactors, and downstream cloth filtration. A technical building will be constructed to house the technical equipment. In the future, the effluent from the cloth filtration system will be used for industrial water treatment. The treatment will be carried out using UV treatment. It is planned to make the industrial water available both internally and to businesses in the region.

An additional measure in the project is the renewal of the blower station for biological treatment.
