SHORT DESCRIPTION

Since the floods in the Ahr Valley, climate change adaptation with regard to heavy rainfall events has been a focus for numerous cities and municipalities. Using a 2D simulation model, heavy rainfall hazard maps and animated videos are presented for three scenarios. Based on the SRGK, a risk analysis was created which, in addition to risks for buildings, also provides thematic maps on erosion and road passability. In the action plan, concrete implementation proposals were developed in numerous workshops for the building blocks of land use planning, municipal construction measures, information provision, and crisis management in the critical areas. In addition to the map representations as PDF and paper plans, all results are also available in georeferenced form for further representations and future analyses.
