IF WE GO DOWN, THEN WE GO DOWN TOGETHER
Team events are a nice change of pace – the dragon boat race on Lake Baldeney in Essen has been part of this since 2007.
The standard dragon boat can accommodate almost 20 people, who sit in pairs on a bench facing the direction of travel. The crew propels the boat forward with paddles. The stroke paddlers sit on the first bench: they set the pace, which the drummer in front of them loudly passes on to all the paddlers behind. The helmsman stands at the end of the boat and holds the long oar; he has an overview of the situation and is also responsible for safety in the boat. Sounds like fun.

Fun and beyond
When we get together outside of work, it's mainly about having fun – often involving food. But that's not all: seeing colleagues in different situations builds understanding and trust. As a general planner, we have many experts in their respective fields in-house. Everyone brings their own perspective and working methods to the table. Here, you also have the opportunity to expand your network within the company and look beyond your own bubble. With just under 200 employees, there's a good chance you don't “really” know someone. And after traveling together and enjoying plenty of food and drink, it's easier to have a relaxed conversation.
