Shortdescription
At the Heidenheim-Mergelstetten wastewater treatment plant, sewage sludge was previously stabilized in two older digestion tanks. The city of Heidenheim therefore had a new digestion plant built.
Two digestion tanks with a volume of 1,400 m³ each, i.e. a total of 2,800 m³, were constructed. These were equipped in such a way that both single-stage and two-stage operation is possible. The tanks were designed as cylindrical reinforced concrete tanks with a flat sloping base.
A single-story machine room in solid construction with a steel stair tower was erected as a connecting building between the digestion tanks and the new thickener.
A new pipe channel was constructed to connect the new buildings to the process engineering system.
